Located in the tropical Island of Bali Indonesia. Having used the Architectural compound of “Dukuh Haus” as an environment for architectural experimentation the guest house focused on designer Maximilian’s heavy influence of the bauhaus and de stijl movements throughout his design career. Designed this guest house as an homage to the iconic Mies Van Der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion.
Using Cantilevered roofs to create an interlocking central courtyard connecting the 2 separate guest room spaces. Minimalistic choices in material allow for the surrounding nature to be one of the features of the project seen through the large encompassing windows. While also allowing designer Maximilian to be more experimental with the furniture creating experimental yet cohesive environments with brand new furniture designs.
